ABOUT ME
Hi!
My name is Bente Engelstoft (Ben-duh Angle-stoft). I’m an actor, writer and comedian based in Los Angeles. I’m a first generation American, born to a Danish father (see name) and a Mexican mother (see everything else). I’m also a woman. And queer. Representation matters!
I graduated with a BA in theatre from the University of Glasgow in Scotland, where I wrote my undergrad dissertation on improvised theatre because nerd.
After college I moved to Chicago where I improvised, wrote and performed for the stages of Second City, iO Chicago and The Annoyance Theatre, to name a few. You can read about all of that in my resume.
After Chicago, I made my way west to Los Angeles where I was a writer for the 2016 CBS Diversity Showcase and a writer/ performer for the 2017 Showcase.
Most recently I was a writer for three years on The Ellen DeGeneres Show where I won three Emmys!
What else?
Oh probably lots more that I’m forgetting, but have a click around and reach out if you’d like to know more!
just in case you can't get enough...
